Maybe you can relate to the frustration Founder Jeff Hosking felt when he shopped for a mattress for his first home. “I just wanted something to sleep on,” said Jeff. “Every store I went to would contradict what the other said!” Numerous trips to different stores left him confused and annoyed. Buying furniture also proved to be “a painful experience” when Jeff needed to furnish a larger house two years later.
Jeff decided to find a better way to shop for furniture and mattresses. Putting his experience and education in sales and marketing to work, Power Marketing Direct was born in 1997 when Jeff stocked a garage with a small inventory of four different mattresses. He sold eight mattresses his first week and more than doubled his sales the second and third weeks. The company soon moved out of the garage to a small clearance center with an adjacent warehouse and added a wide selection of furniture and accessories. It wasn’t long until Jeff decided to grow the business nationally and helped establish dealers using his sales and marketing system – the “PMD Program.” The rest, as they would say, is history: the company ranks among the Top U.S. furniture stores.

Combining the Royal Heritage Home Furnishings® brand, which has become known and accepted by consumers for its quality workmanship and exacting standards of quality, with the highly successful PMD Program resulted in the creation of PMD Furniture Direct, Inc. in late 2008 and the creation of the PMD Furniture Direct Franchise Program in 2009.
